Ok. I must have been completly nuts. Who am I to think I could go out and create a no-budget movie that would blow away all others? Well, I still think I could, but it's going to take much more than I am willing to give up. That is the first thing to prepare for. Time. Making a movie takes up all your time. Every ounce you get, you need to throw into your movie to give it life. Without the proper time commitment from you and your key players, you have no movie. It's critical for everyone to be serious in order to make it work. I've been in love with making movies since 1985 and started THRAE Entertainment. I made a no-budget feature in 1989 (minus the final soundtrack) that never saw the light of day outside a small group of people. It was hard, but what's harder today is that with DV, many people are making high quality movies that knock my socks off. I set forth in 1999 to share my experiences and help promote some of these folks with this website. I've met some wonderful people along the way and am still knocking on the doors to complete another feature. One that will be released. So far, I've come up against one disatorous effort and a second non-feature project in perpetual limbo. I've really had to sit down and re-evaluate what it is I'm exactly doing. I've learned a lot about myself and am excited to continue on with the moviemaking dream. I hope you enjoy the site and that you learn a few tips and techniques along the way. Always look up and smile :) |
