AT DAWN THEY SLEEP arrives in the dead of night from writer/director Brian Paulin on the Video Outlaw label from Alternative Cinema! Excellent movie with wicked effects and nasty ladies! Here is another fine example of low-budget moviemaking that works and works well! Hats off to this one! Before the sun sets, grab something for protection, because we don't think your crucifix will even remotely help you out on this one. Get ready for AT DAWN THEY SLEEP!!

Stephen has just had a wild night with a lady of the evening. He pays her off and is called down to settle some business with his pal Ian. Both Stephen and Ian are drug lords and their most resent deal had some of the package lightened up a bit. They are holding their deliverymen directly responsible for the rip off and they terminate them on the spot.

A major drug war is erupting between them and the local competitor! The competition sends in the guns, but lucky or rather unluckily for Stephen and Ian they dodge this bullet only to land in the arms of angels. Beautiful angels that want to take over the world.

After one night with them, they are infected with a super virus of the vampire type! Both feel mighty ill the next day and it so happens another drug hit erupts!

The metal soundtrack screeches to life as a car chases Stephen down and through the front of his house! He is pumped full of lead, and Ian arrives to help him out! Turns out one of their buddies was at the head of the hit, but now he's going down! They know something special is going on because the pain subsiding and you know what, Stephen is feeling mighty power hungry. He knows he should be dead right now, but he's more interested in getting even with their pal who they happen to pass on the way home!

That night they both change into something much more than they could have imagined! The girls have something special to offer them. In exchange for immortality, they are to help regain they world for them. So with newfound powers and a taste for blood, the figure the first thing to do is deal with the competing drug ruler in a way that no one would ever expect!

Bullets don't stop them, but something else might, as the demon world makes it's own personal calling to them and explains the truth about the angels' plan. A war is raging between demons and vampires and drug lords alike! There is no escape from any part of this orgy of death, but that's the way they like it and soon everyone will be joining this maddening party of chaos and terror!

AT DAWN THEY SLEEP marks another highlight in low-budget shot on video moviemaking! Wicked effects and killer creatures! Beautiful angels with ulterior motives and plenty of action and blood erupt on the screen in a dance with the devil you won't want to miss!

PRODUCTION NOTES

Yes! We totally dug this one! Excellent framing and setups, great action sequences that blew us away! Nice, sharp picture and killer instincts! Kudos go out to writer/director Brian Paulin! This movie kicks royal butt!

Wow! Where to begin here! This movie is full of action from the start to the finale and introduces us to some wild thoughts on religion and what the world is all about!

The blood does spilleth aplenty as well and the movie is loaded with outstanding special effects! There are the standard blood and fangs, but more so are the excellent bullet hits and all the non-blood effects such as a pupil stage our heroes endure!

The lighting is awesome! Everything is lit well and the shadows are only there on purpose!

The sound is equally important and here we have rock solid and stable sound from start to finish! Excellent!

And the story! Man! Risky to say the very least, but that's what makes cult movies!! One scene that is just a hint at the subject matter: A lesbian experience in a nunnery that rips it up with teeth! Nuff said!

Mow every movie is marked with flaws and they are a few in here, but they are so easily overlooked that they do not ruin the viewing experience. This is low-budget moviemaking and this is excellent work!

AT DAWN THEY SLEEP has definitely joined the ranks as one of our favorites! It is a killer of a movie and if you want a great time, check it out!
