CALIGULA REINCARNATED AS HITLER

CALIGULA REINCARNATED AS HITLER (L'Ultima orgia del III Reich) is another blast from the past on the Retro Shock-O-Rama label. It follows the exploits of a nazi death camp for women. Gruesome and painful to watch, it is apparently heralded as one of the classics of the crazy genre of nazi movies. It is from Italy circa 1976, and directed by Cesare Canevan.

SS Squad Commandant Starker runs a women's Nazi death camp during WWII. The Jewish women are rounded up and selected by youth and beauty to survive. The others are taken away and killed as soon as they arrive. An SS Officer selects who stays and who is gassed.

The camp's sole existence is in the degradation of its women prisoners. They must be broken and when they are broken, they are murdered. Pure and simple Nazi formulation. Destroy the Jew fore they are not human. Incredible they even made movies about this insanity.

There is a female Gestapo agent that feeds victims to her viscous killer dogs. She gets pleasure through torture and pain, and even has a little S&M thing going on with the Commandant Starker. That all ends though when he discovers Lise, a Jewish prisoner that he is determined to break and cannot.

No matter what torture and humiliation he puts her through, she will not break. She will do whatever it takes to survive, even if it means hurting her fellow prisoners. Yet, there is a method to her desire that is laid out during the course of the story, and the ultimate revenge is carried out in the end.

If you are into this type of sadistic flick, then check out Retro Shock-O-Rama for more details.

PRODUCTION NOTES

Man, we just did not like this one. Could slam it all day long. The subject matter itself left us in disbelief that there was even a genre of films made about the death camps. Simply freaky.

We won't go off slamming it directly, because again it is heralded as a classic among this genre. It's just that it is not a subject matter we can approve of. The best things that happen in this movie are the deaths of the Nazis and Lise's ultimate revenge.
