DRAINIAC

DRAINIAC creeps up from the pipes to us from Kinetic Image! Director Brett Piper makes things slither up from the drains that make us run for the hills!! Excellent job here with outstanding effects and fun gags that give the bumps and jumps we long for! If you can stand the creepy and eerie DRAINIAC, find a place to sit and don't get to close to anything that even resembles plumbing!!

It's Christmas Eve and the snow is coming down. Two homeless friends huddle near a tiny fire and ridicule one another. All they need is a drink to help stay warm. One of them has a bottle and they fight over it, dumping it on the fire! The flames shoot higher, but the panic over the bottle has them dumping snow on it until it dies! They fight a bit, and end up in front of an old house.

Sneaking into the basement is the plan and they squeeze through a loose window to find some warmth. There doesn't appear to be anyone home, but there were lights in the top windows, so stealth is necessary. Yellow green, slimy, snotty stuff is dripping from a pipe and one of them decides to touch it! Big mistakes as the stuff covers him head to toe and literally dissolves his flesh down to the bones!!! The other friend takes off into the night as not to become its next victim!

Now Julie has an overbearing an ungrateful father who would rather her be his slave than a true daughter at all. Her life is haunted by her mother's death images of creepy creatures reaching and grabbing her! Is she crazy or just in tune with the supernatural around her? These nightmares make her jolt upright in terror and to the yelling of her nasty father.

He has work for her to do and she better well do it or hear his wrath. He has this gimmick to get rich through real estate and he has purchased an old house to fix up. The house that our dear homeless person met his liquefied demise in! To make matters worse, the place is a wreck and has not been lived in for years. Her dad puts her right to work cleaning the mess while he runs an errand to the local bar to drink with his buddies.

She cleans as she is supposed to, but this place is a little strange. Rattling in the pipes and sludge pouring from them, and a floor that soaks up every drop of liquid that touches it! No need to fear because her friends show up to lend a hand, even if it is a bit unwilling, but before they decided to help their pal, they were confronted by the local bully who has also decided to show up and wreck havoc on their little party. Not a real friendly guy, as he tries to force himself on one of the girls, but the thing in the plumbing takes care of him real good (right as he is unzipped and letting his bladder go - OUCH!!)!!

They decide to leave regardless of what daddy says, but they find there is no escape from whatever lives in the house and the land around it! The only chance they have is when a psychic that knows these types of evil spirits decides to help them! That is if he can! Sometimes things are much stronger than they appearÉ

Turn off the lights and sit back with some popcorn for a good old-fashioned fright night of delight with DRAINIAC!!! This one will not leave you feeling drained!!

PRODUCTION NOTES

Freakin AWESOME!!! We absolutely loved DRAINIAC! Big hats off to Brett Piper and gang for delivering a fun, frightful, top-notch production!! Full of scares and laughs all timed right and dead on the money! Super cool!

This one was shot on film and drives home that nagging war in our own heads about film vs. video. Film rules hands down. You just cannot get this type of quality work with camcorders. This movie looks nice top to bottom and left to right.

The special effects are outstanding!! There are no holds barred on these and they are delivered nastily!! Most excellent to watch the melting and the quality of the set design with the bathroom (and it is one freaky bathroom! Keep your eye on the tub!) as well as the physical effects and the miniature work! Awesome job!!

DRAINIAC is one to grab for its quality as well as entertainment value! Great work from dream sequences to cars sinking in the gunk and to the house-imploding conclusion! Brett Piper rocks! Pick up DRAINIAC from Rounds Entertainment NOW!
