FAT FREE FEATURES serves up a delightful treat with HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY. Ron Ford helms this offbeat "Mock"-umentary about make up artist extrodinaire Pierce Jackson Dawn and his misadventure in old time Hollywood circa 1941.

HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY opens with modern day interviews with real life celebrities (Margaret O'Brien, Anita Page, Conrad Brooks, David DeCoteau, Tim Murphy) reminiscing and sharing their own thoughts about the mysterious circumstances surrounding Pierce Jackson Dawn(Film Star Randal Malone).

We the see Pierce in the presence of a Voodoo Priestess and how he obtains the ultimate makeup knowledge. A balm that will keep you alive and young, or allow you to raise the dead.

Without any new horror films slated to go into production, Pompous Dawn is literally put out of the business and must try to get interest raised to make another horror picture. The studio wants nothing to do with him, so he puts it upon himself to get the public interested in horror once again.

Dawn digs into his newfound voodoo and brings back two of the biggest horror legends of all time Pratt Borokof (Tim Sullivan) and Janos Blasko (Ron Ford). Unfortunately for Dawn, his new "monsters" do not co-operate 100%. Instead of making scary headlines, the two unwilling zombies go on a bloody killing spree that definitely grabs the grabs the front page news.

When Dawn returns to the studio for his final pitch, all mayhem breaks loose. The studio still refuses to make horror films, so Dawn brings in Borokof and Blasko who tear the place (and each other) apart. It's a scream not to miss!

HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY is framed with real life celebrity interviews that speculate the validity of the events surrounding Pierce Jackson Dawn's bizarre demise. Where the events real; or did people create stories about the dreadful crime scene? There is some original footage of the shocking scene that puts the truth before your very eyes. You'll need to pick up a copy of HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY to see it and judge for yourself...

PRODUCTION NOTES

HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY is a screen gem from writer/director RON FORD, who also portrays Janos Blasko in the movie! Awesome job!

FILM STAR RANDAL MALONE is a very convincing Pierce Jackson Dawn. The role was executed wonderfully and hats off to Mr. Malone!

TIM SULLIVAN portrays Pratt Borocof with finesse and dignity. Wonderful job!

The movie itself is executed beautifully, creating a look and feel of 1941 Hollywood through the use of both B/W and color cinematography.

What stands out the most is the clever use of celebrity interviews framing the action taking place in 1941. Everything fits together and works wonderfully.

HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY took home the Best Special Effects Award at the Ed Wood Memorial Film Festival and RON FORD won an award of special merit from the Southern California Motion Picture Council.

Kudos to Mr. Ford for his achievements on this wonderful movie! The box reads "Stars aren't born...They're Embalmed." Don't get embalmed, make sure to catch HOLLYWOOD MORTUARY!
