Kevin Lindenmuth serves up a mixture of sci-fi, action and horror in this gem that adds several new twists to the werewolf curse. In a near future New York City, Jake (Santo Marotta) and Ralph (Tom Nondorf) are having a bad day. A few years earlier an asteroid slammed into the moon and shifted its orbit closer to Earth. This resulted in a dormant werewolf gene to become active in thousands of people. Now madness and mayhem break loose with each cycle of the full moon. Jake was a werewolf before the shift and now has the power to transform at will. Ralph is a normal human being that desperately wants to become a werewolf and does everything he can to act like one. Jake's brother, Lazlo (Joe Zaso), wants to destroy what's left of mankind and has a diabolical plan laid out that involves Jake's co-operation, but Jake does not want to join his brother's evil plans. Unlike Lazlo, Jake has a softer side for others. When Gina (Sasha Graham) is gunned down by hunters, Jake is there to rescue her and help her recover. This only allows Lazlo to pull Jake further into his scheme. Lazlo unleashes his plans causing Jake and Ralph to try to make a break out of the now prison city. They must avoid what's left of the police, a nest of underground mutants, and groups of bounty hunters to find freedom. Along the way, Lazlo doesn't make it any easier. When Lazlo unveils his final plans that involve a reluctant vampire Kessa (Debbie Rochon), they pull out all stops and confront one another in a epic battle of the beast with some new surprises that you will need to see to believe... Production Review RAGE OF THE WEREWOLF (1999) Starring SANTO MAROTTA, TOM NONDORF, JOE ZASO, DEBBIE ROCHON, SASHA GRAHAM, HOLLIS GRANVILLE, MICK McCLEERY Music by STORM WITHIN & SPRINGWELL Effects by FANTASY CREATIONS, TIM THOMSON, JAY ALVINO Written by KEVIN LINDENMUTH & SANTO MAROTTA Directed by KEVIN LINDENMUTH Produced by SANTO MAROTTA The story flows extremely well and introduces some new and welcome elements into the werewolf genre. The opening music is superb and sets the tone for the drama ready to unfold. The overall style of the movie follows a straight forward approach to the werewolf phenomena that the story portrays. The Special FX makeup and werewolf costumes are shot and well lit in various angles that complement the action on screen. One of the more memorable sequences is the underground mutant scenario. This segment involves Jake and Ralph confronted by the poor souls who apparently have had a much more misfortunate experience from the moonshift. Santo Marotta's portrayal of the lead role of Jake is no less than excellent. He seems to make the part look effortless and achieves outstanding results especially with his reactions towards different characters. His "look" is great for the part as he is all decked out in black. Tom Nondorf plays Jake's "normal" (if you can call it that) friend Ralph. His antics at trying to be a werewolf are simply hilarious. Ralph wants to be a werewolf, while Jake shakes his head and moves on. Tom is a great actor as he appears to be having fun with this part. We certainly enjoyed watching him at it! Sasha Graham is Gina, a werewolf in trouble that Jake rescues and provides shelter to. Her performance is outstanding! It's the little small gestures and movements of acting that make it all seem real for the viewer. Sasha is great, pure and simple! Debbie Rochon portrays Kessa the vampire in a role that literally has bite! She is wonderful! Red-faced after taking a chuck out of Mike Gingold's throat she is confronted by a priest and... you'll just have to watch!!! Debbie, we loved ya, and hope to see more of you with fangs in the future!! Joe Zaso is Lazlo! Evil! Detestable! You get the point! Joe is killer in this part! Creepy! Especially with red eyes! You defiantly do not want him on your bad side! The only complaint we had is that we would have loved to have seen more of his evil doings! Kudos to all involved on this production! It's evident of your hard work and dedication to get this story to the screen. For more information about RAGE OF THE WEREWOLF and Kevin Lindenmuth visit Brimstone Productions.
